The down side? Playing as Germany, I'm sure you are aware from history that Germany had manpower issues and these divisions are quite manpower heavy. These divisions aren't as hard-hitting as some of the artillery heavy designs you'll see recommended but they are cheaper (so you get more of them) tougher (and therefore suffer fewer casualties) and easier to keep supplied. The fifth division, if you want to use one, can be any one of these but you should consider if the corps is going to be fighting tanks, infantry or if aircraft are going to be a problem. This gives a 4 division corps 3 Art bgds, 3 AT bgds and two AA bgds in the optimal mix of these components for the CA bonus. So, to get the feel of the game, your basic foot-slogger corps should start as:. I would recommend that, for TFH, you need some form of decent AT in at least half of your infantry divisions and some AA comes in useful too. Warrior, it looks like you're a beginner so. it is very likely that you will run into supply problems there and Russia has a huge number of low IS provinces. One example for this, which is especially important for germany is Russia. in low inf regions it pays to either have not a single fuel consuming unit, or at least untits with a really low fuel consumption. One reason to keep ACs away from Inf divisions is, btw. my new built divisions sometimes get a marine unit instead of the third Inf regiment, in hopes to get less losses on river crossigns. When I have unlocked my 5 Regiments / Division, I specialize the divisions further. The beginning, when I only can field 4 Regiments per Division it is (per Korps)ฤก * 3 Inf + 1 Eng (this being my Sturmdivision, against forttresses and in bad terrain) I like to specialize my divisions on Korps-Level. With this expansion every different type above Infantry (of which (or Mot or Mech) you have to have at least one regiment to get the bonus) gives +5 CA bonus. Not on the softness, but rather on the different types (Inf, Arm, Direct Fire, Ari, Engineer) you have. In this Expansion the combined arms bonus is calculated differently. It also depends on whether you use "Their finest hour".
